Supervision with Cree Lambeck

B.Ed., M.A., RP (she/her)

CLINICAL DIRECTOR AND THERAPIST

“I’ve always felt like a natural helper and teacher. I love to support people and help them find and build on their strengths.”

Cree’s Professional Background

Cree has been serving in the helping profession for over twenty five years. From a political aid to an elementary school teacher and learning centre director to registered psychotherapist, Cree’s diverse professional experiences have provided her with a unique frame of reference that she uses to mentor the social, emotional and learning needs of her supervisees and mentees. Cree is Registered Psychotherapist, Ontario Certified Teacher and Clinical Supervisor. Cree holds specializations in perinatal mental health, walk & talk eco-therapy, mindfulness and the Rewind Technique for Trauma (RT). Cree practices relational psychotherapy and enjoys integrating elements of mindfulness, emotion-focused therapy, non violent communication, motivational interviewing, trauma interventions and humanistic principles of care into her clinical work.

Cree’s Approach to Supervision

Cree offers reflective supervision which rests on the three building blocks of reflection, collaboration and regularity. Providing an open, accepting and secure space for supervisees to delve into the complexities of the work is critical to growth. Unlike clinical supervision, which tends to focus solely on cases, reflective supervision goes deeper into the therapist-client relationship including exploring emotions, power dynamics, and broader societal influences. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the therapist's perspective and encourages a compassionate approach rather than just seeking solutions. By integrating reflection, active listening, and empathy within a safe clinical framework, reflective supervision fosters ethical and effective practice.

Walk & Talk/Eco-Therapy Supervision Group
Facilitators: Cree Lambeck (RP, Clinical Supervisor) and Heather Hendrie (CCC, RCC)

Join our supervision group for therapists dedicated to building an ethical, sustainable, and environmentally conscious practice rooted in nature-based therapy principles. We believe in decolonizing therapeutic approaches and fostering equity within our work. By integrating ecotherapy principles, we aim to cultivate a deeper connection to the natural world while honouring diverse perspectives and promoting social justice. Together, we'll explore how to implement sustainable practices in our therapy sessions, minimizing our environmental footprint and maximizing our positive impact on the planet.

Climate anxiety, existential dread and global health fear are on the rise. As therapists, we hold an ethical responsibility to support global citizens as they and we experience life in a time of climate crisis. Changing weather patterns, flooding, forest fires, and the loss of animal habitat create worry and dread - in ourselves and our clients. Together, we will explore how to meet clients where they are in processing the unpredictability of these uncertain times and to hold and empower each other in moving from awareness to action.

Clinically, we will explore nature-based therapy models, engage in resource sharing, review cases and build community. This group is designed to support therapists who are actively practicing or planning to launch outdoor therapy programming. Training, clinical experience and/or certification in walk & talk therapy is required as a prerequisite to joining. This group has two facilitators for extra nurturing and support.
