Mentorship Support

Helping, fixing and serving represent three different ways of seeing life. When we help, we see life as weak, when we fix, we see life as broken. When we serve, we see life as whole…we see the unborn wholeness in others; we collaborate with it and strengthen it. Others may then be able to see their wholeness for themselves for the first time.
— RACHEL NAOMI REMEN

The role of a mentor goes beyond guidance; it's about creating a special relationship and trusted space. You come here to be held, heard and seen. Here we dig, dismantle, rebuild and restore. Vulnerability is not only welcome here, it is required. It is the transformative process of unmasking that reveals your core needs, deepest desires, and true passions. From there, we find your path.

Compassion fatigue, burnout, financial risk, competition. Are you tired of the constant hustle and just want to be held, nurtured and guided in the spirit of true partnership and community? Instead of driving yourself harder, what if we slowed down to the speed of wisdom and….listened? What if your growth path was organic, free-flowing, authentic and based on your core needs? Scarcity, fear, obligation and proving ourselves drive us - but often we don’t like where we end up. “Should” stories and negative core beliefs limit our growth and shut down self-trust. There is a better path, one that leads to true fulfillment and energy, nourishment and abundance.

Cree Lambeck

CLINICAL DIRECTOR AND THERAPIST

Hi, I’m Cree Lambeck, Owner and Clinical Director of Cherry Tree Counselling.

Over my three career paths, spanning three decades I have learned so much. I have met so many bright souls along the way. I have stumbled, made mistakes and grown stronger because of them. I have learned the difference between driven vs. drawn and learned how to listen…really listen to the messages around me, on the outside and on the inside.

While I have yet to find a roadmap to help me navigate the complex and challenging professions I have worked in (politics, teaching and counselling) I have been so fortunate to find a trusted mentor. She has been an invaluable part of my journey. A mentor serves as both anchor and compass as we navigate our professional lives. As I continue to evolve in my practice, the consistent and felt presence of my mentor helps to ground and anchor me in the wisdom of shared experiences. I am now at a point in my career that I am moved to share what I have learned with others in the helping professions who are diligently trying to find their way.

I vividly remember the raw vulnerability that comes with being new in the field - the questions, the doubts, and the overwhelming sense of responsibility. It is my mentor who helps me stay grounded and who reminds me that not having all the answers is an essential part of growth.

I wish I could say that the imposter syndrome we feel when we try something new goes away with time. In my experience every time we stretch ourselves, that voice is close by. That doubting part - some days it whispers, other days it roars. But its message remains consistent - you are a fraud and soon you will be found out. This stokes a fear narrative and keeps us locked up and small, afraid to take that next step. It is a constant companion on this journey. My mentor showed me that acknowledging, accepting and learning from this response is a powerful step towards authenticity and our own empowerment. Only when we drop our resistance and shift into surrender do we find the ease we desire. When we stop trying to fix ourselves and simply learn to be with ourselves, new space and energy are revealed. It is here we find momentum, motivation and the inspiration to build what feeds us.

Cultural conditioning tells us we are never enough, we always need to achieve more and we can’t stop moving or disaster will strike. I’m here to tell you that you most certainly are enough. You don’t have to grind harder. You don’t have to be ruled by scarcity, fear, proving and obligation. There is a better path, a gentle path full of fulfillment, authenticity and abundance. Take my hand, let’s walk there together.

At Cherry Tree, we are committed to offering the same kind of mentorship that has been instrumental in our own growth. Whether you are just starting out or seeking continued companionship on your journey, we will create a customized package that is just right for you. As therapists and professional helpers, we are in a lifelong relationship with our practice. Our professional paths are complex and full of questions as we walk a tightrope between risk and doubt. Having a mentor means having someone to share the load, face the uncertainties, and celebrate the wins. A mentor’s influence extends beyond the professional realm and shapes our posture as therapists, it helps define who we want to be and how we show up in the work, and in our lives.

Life is slippery. Here, take my hand.
